The story of Barolo begins with the marriage of Carlo Tancredi Falletti, marquess of the village of Barolo, to Juliette Colbert, a French noblewoman. Juliette was personally motivated to provide her wine with a lasting prestige, to which end she asked her friend the Count of Cavour to allow her to consult with his French enologist Oudar, who from 1843 had been collaborating with the count in producing Barolo in his cellars at Grinzane.
Our Barolo from La Morra area is known for its elegant qualities, especially when the wine is released; this is due to the Tortonian soil which results in our wine with more gentle tannins, as the roots of the vines do not have to go as deep as those in vineyards with older type of soils in other Barolo areas.
It is a wine that can age for 15-25 years in the finest vintages, yet offers a more approachable style and displays floral perfumes like roses and red poppies and its aromatic profile makes it so inviting; It is a wonderful choice for an earlier consumption.
